An overview of St Peter's
St Peter’s Primary School is a school of approximately 180 pupils, formed from the amalgamation in September 2007 of Pilning Primary School (140 pupils) and Redwick and Northwick CEVC Primary School (60 pupils). During the first year of operation (academic year 2007-8) the school operated from the two school sites, then from September 2008 we will be on one site, the Pilning site, whilst awaiting construction of the new school building on a new site.
St Peter’s School will, until the new school premises are built, operate on the old Pilning School site which was first opened in 1877. It has been added to several times, giving it architectural uniqueness.
It has five spacious and well-equipped classrooms augmented by a temporary building providing a total of seven classrooms allowing one year classes. It stands in three quarters of a hectare alongside Bank Road in rural countryside.
There are three main tarmac play areas, two grassed areas and a fenced garden which the children enjoy. Each classroom has a carpet area, sink unit with a cold water supply and storage area for class equipment.
