Pupil Premium Strategy 2017-2018

Introduction

The allocation of pupil premium funding amounts to £24,660 for the academic year 2017-2018

In line with previous years’ allocations, this funding enables the school to provide additional support for those children who are in receipt of Free School Meals; are Looked After; are from families in the Armed Services or who are considered by the school to be in need of additional help.

The main barriers to educational achievement are linked to

  • Potential effects of deprivation
  • Likelihood of transferring to a different educational setting
  • Potential barriers caused by separation from birth parents
  • Poor attendance

As in previous years, support is provided through a range of short term small group intervention programmes and this year the school is placing even greater emphasis upon supporting pupil premium children as much as possible within the classroom setting.
