St Peter’s School Values

The values of the teaching of Jesus and love and respect for your neighbour are fundamental to all aspects of our school. Children are encouraged to develop a reflective spirituality which will give them the resilience, resourcefulness and empathy to face the challenges of a changing world.

Over a two year cycle our children explore and learn about the values of generosity, compassion, courage, forgiveness, friendship, respect, thankfulness, trust, perseverance, justice, service and truthfulness. Our Christian values have a positive effect on our pupils and staff. The impact of which is evident in the strong, positive relationships within the school and in the pupils personal development, be it in academic, confidence or spirituality

The school values of Respect, Friendship, Courage, Happiness and Success were created by the children and Governors, recognising the individual needs for social, moral, spiritual and cultural developments as well as academic. The values permeate throughout the school on a daily basis through discussions and Collective Worship.

Term 3: PERSEVERANCE

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

This term children will be exploring and reflecting upon the value of perseverance; what it means and how it can help them to develop into a lifelong learner. The children will learn and reflect upon the words of Jesus and how he can be their special friend in facing challenges that they face in their lives. There will be opportunity to reflect and discuss words of wisdom from a range of people from other faith traditions and cultures.

Developing the value at home:

Please take the time to talk to your child about the things that they have persevered with at school and outside of school. Praise them up when they have demonstrated perseverance and please let the school know so we can celebrate together!
