In September 2013 the DFE provided all primary schools with additional funding for schools to develop a legacy to improve physical education and sports provision within school.

2015-2016
During the academic year 2015-2016 St. Peter’s have continued to develop the teaching skills through close work and training with ‘Future Stars- The legacy project’. The use of ‘Real PE’ has been enhanced by ‘Real Gym’ which has been purchased and introduced throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to continue the development on fundamental skills and enjoyment of physical activity. Pupils have taken part in a range of sports competitions, including ones run by local clubs. This has increased the opportunities for all pupils including EYFS children to participate in a broader range of “after school” sports clubs. The mentoring of individual pupils one lunch time each week has also helped to maximise the children’s participation in sporting activities throughout the school week
