Drawing Club - Book focus for Term 5 and 6

 

Year 1

Curriculum

Over the next 2 terms our over-arching theme will be 'Come fly with me!'. In our history lessons we will be looking at aviation and transport. We will think about how transport has changed over time, looking at the first aeroplane and the development of the Concorde in Bristol. In geography lessons we will be looking at world mapping, continents and oceans. We will learn about the 7 continents and the 5 oceans, and we will be able to locate these on a map. In our science lessons we will continue to learn about plants, thinking about the development of a plant from a bulb/seed. We will continue to work scientifically, carrying out experiments with plants. 

Termly Overview

These are the key texts we will be focussing on in english lessons. We will start by creating a newspaper report based on 'Those Magnificent Sheep in their Flying Machine'. We will then move on to writing biographies of the Wright Brothers.
