Reception - Miss Bagienska
🌟 Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage – Reception! 🌟
We are so excited to welcome you to our Reception class in September and take you on an amazing learning journey. In our class, we are all a team, we are brave, and we know that mistakes help us to learn and grow.
Meet the Team!
Tapestry
What is Tapestry?
Tapestry is a secure online learning journal used in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It allows teachers to record children’s learning and development through photos, videos, and written observations.
How do teachers use it?
Teachers capture special moments of learning, play, and progress throughout the day. These observations are linked to the EYFS framework so you can see how your child is developing. Tapestry helps build a picture of your child’s unique learning journey, celebrating both big milestones and everyday achievements.
How can parents use it?
Parents can log in at any time to view updates and see what their child has been doing in school. You can also add your own photos, videos, or comments from home to share experiences and learning outside of school.
Together, this creates a strong partnership between home and school, giving children the best support in their early learning.
Reading
Reading books will be handed out to children on a Friday. Please can you try and read with your child 3 times per week in order to help develop their reading fluency and comprehension and record this in their reading records. Please can you ensure that your child's reading book is kept in their bag as they will also be read with in school. Reading books will be collected in and changed on a Thursday.
P.E Days and Forest school
P.E days this year are on a Tuesday with Bristol sport and a Thursday with Miss Bagienska. Children can come in to school dressed in their P.E kit on these days. Forest school will be on a Tuesday with Miss Daly.
2 Week Wellbeing Topic
In week 1, we will be focusing on the book 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas. In week 2 of the term there will be a whole school well-being focus based around the book 'How to be a Lion' by Ed Vere. The children will complete a range of different activities related to this book focussing on the themes of friendship and celebrating difference.
