In terms 5 and 6 we are thinking about what it would be like to live in a different country. Our focus country is Jamaica, and we are centring this exploration around Mary Seacole, an inspirational historical figure.

In Geography, we will discuss what Jamaica is like as a country and its culture. In History, we will look into the life of Mary Seacole and link her to Florence Nightingale and the nursing profession. 

Our key text for this term is a biography of Mary Seacole and Windrush Child by John Agard. 

In Term 6 we will move onto a slightly different topic, linked to our school trip and explore letter writing and non-chronological reports. This will be linked to a previous Science unit.
