13.02.26 update
Last week our focus book was “Zog”. The children had so much fun being imaginative in our role play castle, dressing up as knights and princesses. We created our own gold stars and built castles using lots of different materials. We met Dieter, a firefighter, and his friend Blaze Bear. He showed us his uniform and some of the equipment he uses. The children listened so well and asked lots of interesting questions.
This week we have read “Mr Wolf’s Pancakes”. We have explored flour play and loose parts, using whisks and utensils to create our own decorated pancakes. For snack we tried pancakes and practised our cutting skills to chop strawberries and bananas to have on top with honey or golden syrup. One of the Nursery children invited us to join them in celebrating Farsang, a traditional Hungarian festival. The Carnival marks the end of winter by dressing up in fancy dress, the children also enjoyed trying some yummy homemade Hungarian doughnuts, we had a great day.
Over the last 2 weeks we have discovered numbers 4 and 5 in the magic maths bag and continued to learn about what each number represents and how we use them.
