Last week our focus book was "Frog on the Log". We spent the week learning all about the frog life cycle. We had fun exploring our chia seed frogspawn sensory tray, we thought the texture was very funny and very slimy. In 'Frog Cottage' we enjoyed role playing with tea and cake. We moved on to 'f' in phonics and used great maths skills when singing "5 little speckled frogs". 

This week we read a traditional tale "The Ugly Duckling".  We have discussed our feelings, the importance of being kind and the idea that everyone is special in their own way.  We have furthered our knowledge of pond life, investigating all sorts of water birds. We have engaged in lots of funky fingers activities this week, strengthening our fine motor development through threading laces, lots of playdough and using scissors. We have explored capacity this week through our curiosity during water play.
